ITSSAR Instructor Courses

An ITSSAR instructor course is carried out over 10 days if the course is initial training. If the ITSSAR training course is for a reregistration or direct entry then a 5 day ITSSAR training course can be taken.

The ITSSAR Instructor Training Course in Cambridgeshire

The ITSSAR Instructor Training Course is a progressive training course; an ITSSAR Training Standards Adviser will visit our Peterborough academy to ensure that the course is being delivered correctly. This approach helps to reduce the stress levels of the candidate. A multi-choice theory test needs to be completed by the ITSSAR Instructor Training Course candidate and the course tutor invigilates this.

ITSSAR initial 10 day instructor course:

This course can be carried out at our training academy in Peterborough or at your site should you meet the required site standards. As an initial candidate you will be required to undertake a forklift operator test to instructor standard.

The ITSSAR instructor candidates will then spend the remainder of the time learning how to write lesson plans, learning how to deliver forklift training and how to complete reports to satisfy health and safety requirements.

The ITSSAR instructor training course is assessed differently to the RTITB instructor course as it is a progressive course and the ITSSAR tutor assesses the instructors ability and there is no end of course examination. Throughout the 10 day course an ITSSAR training standards advisor will visit the academy to ensure the course is being delivered correctly, this reduces the stress levels to the candidate. The candidates also complete a multi choice theory test, which is invigilated by the course tutor.

By the end of the 10 day ITSSAR instructor course you will have sound knowledge of:

  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
  • Health and Safety at Work act 1974
  • L117
  • Provision and Use of Work Regulations
  • ITSSAR Standards and instructional techniques

5 day ITSSAR reregistration or direct entry:

The 5 day ITSSAR training course is only open to those who are renewing their original ITSSAR instructor training or someone who has a valid instructor qualification with a different accrediting organisation.

This course can be delivered at our academy in Peterborough Cambridgeshire or if required at your site. For the course to be delivered at your site we will need to ensure that the training area meets the required standards.

During the 5 day training course you will be refreshed on how to write a structured lesson, how to deliver practical and theory lessons, how to write reports to satisfy your health and safety requirements.

Just like the initial 10 day instructor course there is no end examination or test. The tutor will assess the candidates and invigilate the theory exam.
