  • IOSH Health and Safety courses are designed to help breed a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
  • IOSH Health and Safety courses help managers, supervisors and staff recognise and deal with hazards, which should build morale and lead to less lost time injuries in the workplace
  • IOSH Health and Safety is designed with interaction from all who attend not just death by PowerPoint

Why chose a classroom-based course and not an online course:

The temptation for a lot of people is to take an online training course as they feel that being able to learn at their own pace and time is a good way to learn.  This is ok if you can set the time to one side however after getting home from a long day at work, do you really want to sit down and start your IOSH Health and Safety training? Especially if you have a family to look after as well.

The other issue is the need for help.  With a classroom-based course, you have an instructor on hand to help and guide you through your training.  An experienced instructor will be able to see why a candidate maybe struggling and change the teaching methods to suit the needs of the candidate.  Online training offers tutor support, but will the tutor really be on hand at 7,8,9 o’clock at night whilst you are studying?  In most cases, it will be email support which means you now have to piece an email together on a subject that you may not understand but you need to word it correctly to ensure you gain the correct information back.

The choice is always yours, but we would advise that you chose a classroom-based course with experienced instructors and not just experienced in classroom delivery but also in practical roles.  Our instructors at ALTTA have over 15 years of health and safety experience ranging from Transport, Warehousing, Construction, Mechanical, Hospitality amongst other industries.
