We pride ourselves in the high-quality fork truck training that we provide to your staff in both the classroom and the practical training environment. All of our forklift courses will ensure that as an employer, you will meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all relevant legislation.
Operator Forklift Courses
5-day forklift novice course:
Aimed at new forktruck operators who have no experience of Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) and covers all aspects of forklift truck training. This forktruck course allows the candidate the necessary time to gain driving skills that can be practised so that the candidate can successfully pass the required test. The maximum ratio for this course is 3 candidates to 1 instructor to 1 forktruck and the training must be conducted in a strict training environment.
3 day experienced forktruck operator courses:
Aimed at operators of forklifts who have not been formally trained but have proven experience on the type of forklift they wish to be trained on. The course content is exactly the same as the 5-day course but because of their previous forklift truck experience, the candidate will need less practice to meet the required standards. The maximum ratio for this course is 3 candidates to 1 instructor to 1 forktruck and the training must be conducted in a strict training environment. Since the introduction of the ABA 2013, it is now compulsory that all fork truck operators wishing to undertake an RTITB or ITSSAR 3 day training course must complete a declaration to state they have driven trucks in the past with no formal training being carried out.
If you have received training in a country outside of the UK then you would need to complete the 3-day experience course. Due to their not being a European standard for forklift truck training the certificate can not be used as proof of entry onto the 1-day refresher training course.
1-day refresher forklift course:
The course is aimed at operators who have a proven UK training certificate and is designed to recap the skills and knowledge needed to be able to drive to best practice originally taught. It also ensures that employers meet their obligations to retrain operators on a 3 to 5-year cycle as mentioned in the L117. The maximum ratio for this course is 3 candidates to 1 instructor to 1 forktruck and the training must be conducted in a strict training environment. If training has taken place in the past but you can not produce a certificate then you may sign a declaration stating that you have been trained. You will need to know the place of training and the dates of training.
